2027-28 Histories and Futures of Global Governance Fellowship
The HPE Project Histories and Futures of Global Governance Fellowship is open to scholars with a PhD in history or a related field in which history is their primary disciplinary orientation. Preference will be given to early career researchers.
As part of the History and Political Economy Project’s Histories and Futures of Global Governance Initiative, we are pleased to offer two nine-month visiting fellowships for the academic year 2027-2028, corresponding to NYU's academic calendar (September to May). Fellows will receive a shared office at the Remarque institute at NYU, a stipend of $4500 USD per month of their stay, and visiting scholar status to use NYU's libraries, databases, facilities, and privileges. Fellows also receive a housing stipend for the duration of the fellowship.
HFGG Fellows have time to pursue their own research while also contributing to (and drawing on) the intellectual and public-facing operations of the History and Political Economy Project, the Remarque Institute, and the History Department at NYU. We are especially interested in candidates who will use the fellowship to complete new books that help illuminate past, current, and future challenges to and struggles over the governance of the global economy, in keeping with the broader goals of the HFGG initiative. Scholarly production at the intersection of academic and public audiences is especially welcome. Fellows will be expected to be in residence and active participants in the NYU scholarly community, including through organizing workshops, colloquia, lectures, or other events that advance the goals of the HFGG initiative during the course of their fellowship.
If you wish to apply for a Fellowship, please submit this form, together with a curriculum vitae, a description of your research and the work you would propose to undertake while in residence at the HPE Project/Remarque Institute (5 pages maximum, double spaced), and the names of two references by January 4, 2027.
